MAI ki Waipapa is hosted by Student and Scholarly Services, formerly part of Te Tumu Herenga | Libraries and Learning Services at Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland. 

Formerly known as MAI ki Tāmaki, MAI ki Waipapa is led by Abigail McClutchie (MAI site coordinator) and Dr Te Kawehau Hoskins (academic head). MAI ki Waipapa is a space for Māori and Indigenous Doctoral candidates located in Auckland who are looking to connect to a Kaupapa Māori professional network that supports postgraduate students on their Masters and Doctoral journeys.

To receive regular MAI ki Waipapa email updates and events email mai@auckland.ac.nz to be placed on our Mail List server. Lastly, if you are a MAI ki Waipapa Doctoral candidate or Supervisor of a MAI tauira and have a Facebook account we would love you to join our Facebook Group.

Events are advertised through our monthly newsletter and sent to our Mailing List. Dates and times for the activities and events are released through the newsletter with applicable registration links.

MAI Events 

Day Writing Retreats (on campus)

8.30am – 4pm

Whanaungatanga Brunch (on campus)

10am – 11.30am

Writing Retreats Offsite at St Francis Anglican Centre or Vaughan Park Retreat Centre

4 days, three nights. 6 participants average (based on budget allowance)
