Year Project Commenced :Intern: Madison (Maddie) Mackie, The University of Auckland
Supervisor: Dr Hazel Abraham, AUT University
The internship project was about Māori understandings of neurodiversity and development of digital technologies. The intern conducted a literature review as part of a larger project developing indigenous informed technologies for neurodiverse Māori students. In order to gain an understanding of current theories on this topic, the intern conducted a literature review.
As it turns out, there is no literature on creating digital technologies for neurodiverse Māori so the report was split in two, one part focusing on Māori understandings of neurodiversity and the other part focusing on Māori development of digital technologies. The intern synthesised her findings in order to provide a series of principles and pointers for how one might go about developing this particular technology.
