| | Research Methods and Skills Scholarship Partnership | | Nga Pae o te Maramatanga joined in partnership with the New Zealand Social Statistics Network (NZSSN; www.nzssn.org.nz) to sponsor and support Māori students and researchers to attend research methods and skills short courses in NZSSN’s Summer Programme 2010. These were very well received and provided a great opportunity to our students and researchers.
Twenty scholars were successful in receiving scholarships. The recipients were from various organisations and tertiary providers across the country. The courses attended ranged from Case Study Research to Structural Equation Modelling. As the courses are each one-week intensive courses, students have essentially undertaken the equivalent to a University paper and should be proficient, on completion, in the course’s methods at the level taught. All participants receive Certificates of Participation. We hope to offer this opportunity again to Māori students and researchers.
